Today... celebrates the pattern derived from the tartan of Clan Campbell of Argyll in western Scottland.

Highlanders have worn the diamond-design in kilts, plaids and patterned socks..since the 17th century

Do you have anything with Argyl patterm..
and want to "show off"?

17th Century planes?

I can remember my grandmother's knitting circle challenging each other to knit argyle scarves, socks, and mittens. I couldn't have been more than 4 or 5.

I had no idea what argyle was, but I was old enough to I know that none of us needed mittens...we lived in the farmlands of California's sunny Sacramento Valley.
