Tomatoe Fight in Spain.

I think the whole thing is digusting..I've always thought it... the clean up is horrendous

It's held on the last week of August in my Province in the Valencia region of Spain, but fortunately not anywhere near my village...

I agree, Holly, it makes my blood boil when I see reports every night on the TV about people starving and these morons destroying good food.
 
According to an internet search they don't use fresh tomatoes. The festival uses a large supply of overripe, low-quality tomatoes that are specifically grown for the event and are unfit for human consumption, ensuring the festival is not a waste of good food.
