It is not far from me, but I love going there in the fall. They always have great stuff. And they have a petting zoo. Today I got a grape pie, some concord grapes (a reminder of the vines my grandfather planted) and an orange cranberry bread.

I haven't had a grape pie in years!

The last one I had was from the annual grape festival in Naples, New York.

I remember buying a whole pie and a quart canning jar of grape pie filling.

I have never seen or heard of grape pie outside of your general area of the country.

yes we have 2 farm shops near us too ..I often go there... food is very expensive so I'm careful what I buy, but it's a lovely place to get some really fresh ingredients. Both have tearooms...and both are situated on the farm where you can visit the cattle, goats and sheep which are slaughtered on site.(not in front of people)...for the freshest meat. All the bakery goods are made fresh...

That looks so good Marie. It reminds me of years ago when a co worker of mine wanted grapes to make a grape pie. A new friend of hers said she could have all the grapes she wanted from her arbor by the side of the house and could stop by anytime but she wouldn't be home during the day. My co worker being off one day decided to go to her house. She had never been to her home but had the address. She drove down the street and saw the arbor, parked the car and picked the vines clean. The next day her friend asked her why she hadn't come for the grapes. It seems many of the homes had an arbor and she had picked the grapes from her neighbors yard. She never thought to check the number of the house. I don't know the outcome of that mistake.

I live in the Finger Lakes region of NY State. Grape and wine country. Believe it or not, this is the first time I have had grape pie. My cousin and I remenise often about sitting in my back yard, under the grape trellise our Italian grandfather planted and just eating to our hearts content. She lives in North Carolina now, and . of course, I had to send her the picture I added to this thread.

Nothing beats the taste of Concord grapes. My grandparents had an arbor and I made many trips there. Never had grape pie, but plenty of grape preserves.

The pie is actually not bad. Most of the pies are made with grapes from Naples, which is huge wine area.

Looks delicious Marie, I don't think I ever has a grape pie! The orange cranberry bread sounds good too!

It is. Took a couple slices, warmed them a few seconds, put some butter on and YUM. To be honest, not sure if I will get a grape pie again, a litle expensive due to limited availability of the concord grapes. But, it was on my culinary bucket list, as a food I wanted to try.
