Took my first fall in about 3 years..warning, picture of huge bruise on leg

Hi friends. Just wanted to let you know my leg is healing well. There was slight swelling at first, but that is all gone. Tne color is fading into the "healing bruise" rainbow. No pain, no heat. Nurse friend checks in and says it looks OK.
I am now using my cane more often..both inside and out. I keep one in my car, and a couple scattered through the house. Between Rick and I, we amassed quite the collection of canes and walkers.
I have one of those quad canes inside..one with the four little "feet" too it. I keep it by my bed at night, for when I have to get up.

I was at a local hamburger place, Bill Greys. Better than McDonalds. They do not have drive through, but do take out orders now. They had a row of tables in front of the counter where you place orders. To increase the distance, I guess. As I was turning to walk away to waait on my order, I caught my foot on one of the table legs, and tumbled down I think I hit the back of my leg on the table leg. That plus cement floor. BANG. It hapened so fast though, I do not exactly recall what I hit.
Bit as I said before, it takes very little to cause a bruise. Once Rick grabbed my arm, in fun, and you could see where his finger prints were. And it was not that hard. Of course, I had a dr visit a couple days later, she saw the finger print bruise and was mandated to ask how it happened. I said no worries, I was not abused.

You have some major blood vessels in your leg Marie. Keep it elevated and cold compresses. If it hasn't started turning yellow, I'd have it looked at.

Yep, doing that. Just starting to turn that horrid ugly yellow. Not going to wear shorts out for a bit. I raise it in my chair, and have a pilow underneath when in bed
 
@Marie5656 , that looks like a nasty bruise, but glad you're not hurt otherwise. Nice you have a nurse friend to check it out. Please take care of it and of yourself.
