Trader Joe’s was recently ranked as the best place to work among large companies, according to a new report by Forbes and Statista.

The report — which surveyed 50,000 workers at companies with over 5,000 employees — found that when it came down to a range of factors like atmosphere, remuneration and working conditions, the Aldi-owned grocery chain topped the list.

I go to one here about every 2 weeks or so and they certainly have the most upbeat atmosphere. The staff there actually seems to like dealing with people, like their job, in subtle ways make being in the store a pleasant experience. I suspect that's partly because mgt hires more upbeat types of people to begin with & fosters that attitude by treating them well. And seem to treat us customers very well too. What I'm trying to say is that TJ starts by hiring basically happy people & tries to keep them that way.

In contrast the chain supermarket employees act like they're more concerned with their internal cliques & dynamics; some of the Whole Foods workers here are so bizarre appearing j I wonder if they even know where they are; and another veggie/organic chain here has workers that seem to be counting the minutes till they can go sit on the curb in a side parking lot for a smoke break.

I thought Trader Joe’s was a clothing line of beachwear. I never did any grocery shopping until I retired and then my wife started dragging me along. I was unaware how expensive food was. It was a real eye-opener. I’m really glad that I don’t smoke. I saw a man buy two packs of Marlboro for $14.00.

We love Trader Joe's, although the nearest one is 25 miles away. Great produce at a good price, funky frozen foods, flowers, and Two Buck Chuck wine!! What's not to love?!

I feel that way about Chick-fil-a employees. I have never been to a place with such polite, friendly, helpful workers.

There is a Trader Joe's here, but it's in another town and the parking lot is too small for the amount of business they do. The store itself is also really small and you can't find everything you need there. The food IS good and the staff is courteous. At least there is one fairly close to me in case of food emergencies. :sentimental:

When my sister used to visit from California her first errand was to go to Trader Joe's. She used to stock up, said stuff was a lot more expensive in LA.

I've never been in a store where the employees were as chatty at the register as TJs. It's always fun and the store is always crowded but the register lines move along quickly. Parking lot is always full with one car pulling out when I get there....someday soon parking is going to be an issue. I like it but Whole Foods is my number one go-to store because of freshness, salad bar, and lots of healthy product choices.
