Traumatized by my cable and trash service

Cable went out last night around 12:30am. I know because then there's no sound on the TV and it wakes me up. Sometimes it's just the TV that affected, but I looked at the computer router and modem and they were offline, too. However it was back in about an hour. At least I could have my TV, but I was so shook up, I couldn't get back to sleep right away and there were a couple of Christmas movies I wanted to watch this morning.

Because of the movies, I didn't get online until almost 3pm. There is a snow storm going on. It looked like it was letting up around 10am so I went out and shoveled, but then it started in again. It's been snowing steadily - sometimes it looks like I'm inside a snow globe. With trash pickup tomorrow, I'd have to shovel again so I can get the bins to the roadside and have a cleared area to put them.

Wanting to check with the trash company to see if the pick-up was going to be delayed, so I tried to call them. I had a dial tone, but when I tried to call out (this is a land line service) the line went dead. I tried several numbers and couldn't call out. I had to reset the router. It kept blinking like it was trying to get online but couldn't. Finally I picked up the phone receiver and the light came on steady and I was able to call out only to find their office is closed today because of the storm. Now I don't know whether to put out the bins or not.

No wonder I have to take 2 medicines for my blood pressure.

OH lol...put down the meds...it's only a bit of snow... just put the bins out anyway if they're not emptied take them back in...

I agree. Put them out now since the path is shoveled. They will pick them up when they can.

In the winter if the snow is deep sometimes I just leave mine at the road and carry the trash bags down and toss them in.
I live alone so if I dont have a lot and its bad Ive also been known to skip a week.
Dragging trash cans thru the snow is no fun.

Edit. Forgot to add my trash hauler supplies the big 96 gallon trash cans. You can purchase them if yours doesnt.

But after I shoveled this morning, it snowed the rest of the day. I'd have to shovel again and it takes me an hour and I don't like to do it in the dark - it get dark so early here. The only think I can think of is to see if my neighbor across the street puts his out.

Move down here to the Sunshine State. No snow to deal with. I sit and watch the news on TV and I see the pictures of people shoveling and blowing snow up North and it makes me glad I am living here without having to deal with snow or ice.
No thanks. I prefer the cold to the heat. Besides Im retired. I dont shovel. I dont need to go anywhere. I can wait it out.
If I cant stand it I can hire some young gigalo with a truck and a snow blade to do my drive. :D
