Traveling This Weekend?

I was watching TV just a little while ago and the reporter was giving a report on traveling this holiday weekend. When they showed the airports already being busy, it gave me a flashback to when I was in the cockpit. I flew many trips over holiday weekends, instead of staying home. I would occasionally take a holiday off over Thanksgiving, Christmas and News Year, but for flight crews, they were exciting and happy times. We were taking our passengers home for the holidays. We had a lot of smiling people onboard. Even the return trips were good, I think because our passengers just visited their relatives and now they are sitting in their seats talking about their trip.

Gas prices have come down some. AAA expects that over 50 million vehicles will be on the roads this weekend. People are ready, willing and able to get out and get going. If anyone here us flying, I would highly recommend allowing yourself extra time to get through checking in and getting your luggage tagged and security will be backed up. Main thing us to be patient and not be rushed. Your experience will be more enjoyable. Hopefully, people onboard will behave themselves. Alcohol can be a game changer.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
