tribute to the Great Don Wlliams Who Died today age 78

Don Williams the great country singer has died today age 78 after a short illness...I have always been a HUGE fan, thank goodness we have the legacy of his music to continue to enjoy.


R.I.P Don.....and thanks for the wonderful music...

I'm really sorry to hear that. I'll have to break out a CD and play it. I always loved his music......it was about so often about kindness and honesty and doing the right thing. Plus, he was easy to sing along with.

I had not heard that, and Don Williams was probably my all-time most favorite singer, and it is sad that we have lost one of the great ones today.
A few years ago, he was here in Huntsville and my daughter, Robin, took me to the concert. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences, and I think that the whole audience loved it as much as I did.
All of us were singing along with Don on most of the songs, and he just sat up there on his stool, and serenaded us like we were all sitting around in someone's living room together.
All of his songs are great to listen to and sing along with . This is one of my favorites.

Awww great story HFL...he'll be sorely missed. They haven't released the reason for his death yet ...The Gentle Giant of Country music , I wish I'd got the chance to see him Live..

I don't think I ever heard of Mr. Williams, but after listening to some of these clips, I just love his voice. R.I.P. I'm sorry my friends here have lost him.

Holly, maybe I did but just didn't pay enough attention to remember. Come to think of it, I think I do remember Some Broken Hearts Never Mend... nice song.

I remember seeing him in Nashville when he was first starting out. That particular night for some reason most of his back-up group didn't show up. He apologized and continued without them. He put on a fantastic show and I have been a fan ever since. He will be missed.

Don Williams was one of my all time favorites -- maybe THE all time favorite -- his voice and music were so smooth you could just fall into his songs and hardly help singing along. He was truly one of the greats. I still listen to his music; I especially like singing along with him when I'm walking on my treadmill.
