Trini Lopez song lyrics

I have been posting on other forums for us "Seniors" about a great singer from the 50's/60's called Trini Lopez and showing the lyrics to some of his songs or songs he's covered. Here is another one called "Lets think about living" (/"loving") - I'll come back with a video link if I can find one too:

~In every other song that I've heard lately
Some fellow gets shot
And his baby and his best friend both die with him
As likely as not

In half of the other songs
Some Cat's crying or ready to die
We've lost most of our happy people
And I'm wondering why.

Let's think about living
Let's think about loving
Let's think about the whoopin' and hoppin and boppin'
And the lovie, lovie dovin'

Let's forget about the whinin' and the cryin'
And the shooting and the dying
And the fellow with a switchblade knife
Let's think about living
Let's think about life.

We lost old Marty Robbins
Down in El Paso a little while back
And now Miss Patti Page or one of them
Is a-wearing black
And Cath's Clown has Don and Phil
Where they feel like a they could die

If we keep on a-losin' our singers like that
I'll be the only one you can buy'.

Let's think about living
Let's think about loving
Let's think about the whoopin' and hoppin and boppin'
And the lovie, lovie dovin'

Let's forget about the whinin' and the cryin'
And the shooting and the dying
And the fellow with a switchblade knife
Let's think about living
Let's think about life.

Hope you don't mind but here are some more lyrics for you:

"The Builders song", written by Art Greenhaw, as sung by Trini Lopez

Jesus was a carpenter,
he worked with stone and wood,
he gave us all a building plan,
to follow that was good.

Start with a strong foundation,
avoid all shifting sands,
and always look for unity,
divided nothing stands.

Build a house then,
then come on in,
plan a garden,
feel the sun again.

Live in love with
all Gods sons and daughters,
and we'll roll on forever,
just like the constant waters.

Always seek the peace of
your house and city,
and pray to the Lord,
for its sake and ask his pity
on all those who live in its walls
down to its leaves,
for in its peace shall we find peace.

Make sure the roof holds out the rain,
and all the leaks are plumbed,
all the doors and windows seal -
paint with a primer,
only the best will do,
so when work is over
the craftsmanship shines through.

I'm building my house here below,
as sturdy as I can,
the rock for my foundation,
no no not sinking sand.

Raise up the walls in hope,
the corner stone is love,
it'll be watched from above.

Build a house then,
then come on in,
plan a garden,
feel the sun again.

Live in love with
all Gods sons and daughters,
and we'll roll on forever,
just like the constant waters.

Always seek the peace of
your house and city,
and pray to the Lord,
for its sake and ask his pity
on all those who live in its walls
down to its leaves,
for in its peace shall we find peace
