"Holy guacamole! Just when you think 2017 couldn’t get any worse, a whopping 40,000 pounds avocados met a grisly end on Thursday when a truck carrying the pricy produce crashed on a Texas highway and burst into flames. Tragic, just tragic.

Thankfully, no humans were injured in the crash, which occurred on Interstate 35E south of Waxahachie in the afternoon, WFAA reported. Photos and video from the scene showed an 18-wheeler going up in flames while crews attempted to put out the blaze.

It is also yet to be determined whether the massive loss of avocado life will result in prices going up. Such an economic calamity could prove disastrous for millennials, many of whom rely on a steady diet of overpriced avocado-based dishes to survive and thrive.

Over the summer, three Southern California produce workers were arrested after getting busted embezzling over $300,000 in avocados from their employer. They skimmed avocados from the facility, acted as if they were selling the produce in a professional capacity to dupe customers into buying their purloined goods, and then splitting the proceeds among themselves."

I’m ashamed to admit it, but as old as I am, I’ve never had an avocado. Would even know how to fix it. Another one is an artichoke. Maybe I should try these while I still have a couple of teeth left. :playful:
I wouldn't have either, except I bought one by mistake a few years ago, thinking it was a mango, because the grocery store signs were reversed. I finally ended up chopping it up into a salad. Tasted like big chunks of fat to me. One high calorie food I can resist. Still going to try a mango one day.

Poor things!

So, THAT'S how they make Avocado toothpaste?! ....guess the secret's out!

Oh no! Pappy, avocado is kind of an acquired taste but once you acquire it they are good! Especially guacamole. Artichoke dip is good too.

I'd say go for the guacamole, but don't bother with artichokes. I have an Italian brother-in-law and they use artichokes in all kinds of dishes --- that I won't touch! :)
