Turn black and white photos into colour

I wish I was clever enough to turn old photos into beautiful coloured ones like this one, but I haven't a clue. However, this may help others to achieve this great result.

An AI photo app brought a hundred year old photo to life.
Question: What app was that?
Answer: Remini for colorizing and adding HD textures for the skin, wrinkles, hair, etc. That's all AI generated. Then I just played around with lighting and color in Snapseed.

What a fabulous app, Mellow, but it must be the old-fashioned coming out in me, but I've always had a weakness for B&W and sepia photos.

The left photo is the one I keep gravitating to.

@mellowyellow,that photo is stunning.
I don't mind black and white, in fact my sister in law did a whole wall of old black and white photos and it was so refreshing to see those old pictures framed.
I would be happy just making faded old photos more sharp and brighter.
I've tried that with tools that are on my computer where I save my pictures but haven't had any luck.
Way beyond my capabilities.
