TV Ambulance Chasing?

TV Ambulance Chasing? That's what I think when I see the plethora of TV ads by Law Firms specializing in Class Action Law Suits against Drug companies . Currently it seems to be Blood Thinners/Blood Sugar Meds/ female mesh device/and a whole array of different OTC pills & ointments. It must be paying off big time for these law firms because that TV advertising doesn't come cheap. Has anyone on SF been involved in a Class Action Lawsuit?

Never really thought about it that way, but it IS ambulance chasing via TV. Then the law firm ads for bankruptcy, accidents, social security disability claims, etc. It gets to be a bit much.

Never bothered to be involved with a class action lawsuit, but I think we received some notices in the past inviting us to sign up. I'd rather see lawyers advertising on TV than all those drug companies.

You are right Lon, it's something to see "this week's pills" turn into "next week's class-action suit".

Although, I rarely watch commercials at all anymore since I cut the cable umbilical cord and switched to my Roku streaming device and the "Plex" function where you take youtube vids and "toss" them over to your Roku.

Try it guys, I saved enough on cable to buy a new LCD TV, the Roku box, a DVD burner and 3000 blank discs I have filled with classic movies and TV.

And no more 5-minute pimple cream commercials or Vince from Sham-wow!

Thx :)

As an employee in legal offices, I've been involved in both class action and multi-district litigation. Both are a huge can of worms and a huge amount of nitty-gritty detail work and they go on forever. and ever. and ever . . . . They couldn't pay me enough to work in those areas of litigation again.

The list of side effects for some of these drugs is horrifying. One drug in particular for Bi-Polar disorder was so over the top with it's listed side effects that (no pun or offense intended) you'd have to be insane to take it. An upstart lawyer could easily make a career following some these drugs and the damage they do.

I agree about the side effects of all the medications. My husband and I try to stick to herbs for our health needs but he has had cancer surgeries and takes diabetes meds so all isn't as we wish it were.

The only class action suits I have been involved with were through the eMachine computer company. Thank God I registered both times I bought an eMachine. Never had a bit of trouble with either of them but I guess some did. Something about the computer deleting discs. So I received, along with a lot of others, a certificate for $365 for each computer I had purchased from eMachine. Gateway purchased eMachine so I now own a FREE desktop Gateway computer and a FREE laptop Gateway, besides the Gateway Computer I already owned. I'm happy and very glad I was in that class action suit.
