A coordinated and simultaneous attack on ATMs in Japan netted about 12.7 MILLION dollars(1.4 BILLION YEN) in about 2 hours. Mostly from a South African Bank. Scary

The heist included 1,400 ATMs, 14,000 transactions, 7 banks, 100 people or so and maxed out the withdrawal limit of 100,000 yen in every case. Not the first set of coordinated attacks either. This is the fourth since 2009.

No idea how, but somebody definitely had it going on. Sometimes you wonder why people like that can't apply their uber-intelligence to something legal ya know?

Exactly what I think when I hear about hackers of any kind. If you're so smart to figure that out, why not put it to use with a new program, invention or way to help people.
