Two more stage plays..

Last week I enjoyed / suffered two plays. The first was Oscar Wilde's 'The importance of being Earnest' which was absolutely fantastic. The second was one I had not encountered before, Somerset Maugham's 'The constant wife'. What a disappointment! Although staged in the large Lowery theatre, it was performed without microphones, so it was nearly impossible to hear anything. Even the performance itself had the appearance of an amateur production.

I suppose that's the chance you take when you go to see a live stage play.
