UK Internet Monitoring & Data Mining Bigger Than The US/NSA

The UK had a internet monitoring or data mining program called KARMA trying to capture and profile internet activity world wide. The program is believed to be bigger than NSA which supposedly only focused on emails and calls. Internet activity not just communication. Even monitored radio listening habits.

Hopefully one day KARMA will come back these government spies.

every internet user & google searches

The Brits also have two other spy programs. One called Marbled Gecko focuses on google searches. And another, yikes, concentrates on internet bulletin boards and forums.

The captured information or raw data is stored at a site called the Blackhole.

The goal is to get information 'on any visible user on the internet'.

One problem is that there is no or little oversight in the UK, worse and/or less than in the US.

What? Say it ain't so! You mean they have more spies than us? We can't tolerate that! More spies USA!!!!!!

They are trying to rationalize the program by saying until all the information is put together it really doesn't do much but they need it to get or analyze other information. By 2012 they were collecting 50 BILLION pieces of information a day so one might assume that's searches & or internet uses. They want to double that to 100 BILLION per day.

They seem to be focusing on anonymous proxy users and internet radio listeners. I think the bad guys know all this just like they know satellite cameras can read a license plate.
