About a hundred years ago, when my husband and I were newly married, he joined the Engineer's Club in St. Louis. They held a dinner at a large Chinese restaurant. The only Chinese food we had ever had to that point (we were both about 23 years old) was chow mein out of a can, and we were puzzled by the choice of restaurant. But OK, we were game. We all sat at big round tables with lazy susans in the middle. And then the food started coming out. Oh my! We all got to try a little of everything, and everything was delicious. There were tastes neither of us had ever experienced, and we loved it!! I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing. LOL! That really broadened our horizons for sure.
