There’s not a lot of snow on the ground here, but MAN is it cold!!
we are not used to such frigid conditions here Walking the dogs definitely ain’t for the faint of heart!! I triple layered myself and took them out at 6.00am and it was -1 degrees with a wind chill/feels like of -15 according to the news!
Racer is double coated so he didn’t fare too badly but he’s also an old man, and he was definitely feeling the cold by the time we headed back in. I had a fleece winter coat on Remy (his first time in snow!) which he wasn’t thrilled about, but I think he needed it. He was much quicker than usual to do his business but as soon as he was done he just planted his butt and started shivering! I scooped him up and carried him back inside and ran warm water over his paws to melt the accumulated ice. We were all miserable by the time we were back inside.
I’m going to have to repeat this routine a few more times today for the dogs’ potty breaks. Send prayers
and hot toddies!
