Update on DSS/Child Abuse Case

This was in yesterday's paper --something in there everyday about it since it's one county over. This is the same idiot DSS employees couple (jailed for lack of bond) who had their son handcuffed and a dead chicken tied to his neck...

MORE THAN 100 ANIMALS REMOVED FROM PROPERTY - (headline)

56 chickens & turkeys
10 ducks
10 dogs
8 geese
4 donkeys
3 horses
3 guinea pigs
2 llamas
2 cats
2 finches
1 cockatiel
1 peacock
1 potbellied pig

Write-up said it was like Noah's Ark there. Thank goodness the majority of them have been placed with rescue groups, local farmers and area residents. The U.S. Equine Rescue League is providing care for the horses, donkeys and llamas.

Unfortunately the dogs didn't fare well, some put down, and others taken to the pound...all because of fierce aggressiveness, and the majority of them in horrible shape.

I have no idea who is caring for these 5-6 adopted/foster children of this unmarried couple, but they are obviously still together and that's good news, tho none of them are siblings. Also good to hear that their favorite puppy, a small terrier mix, Max, was returned to them. He was their favorite and wasn't old enough to have developed bad traits.

Another article stated that a couple yrs ago the lil guy who was chained appeared at the door of a neighbor begging for food. The neighbor had just moved there and didn't know anything about the family. He immediately called DSS and reported this, not knowing that the POS mother was a head supervisor at DSS and had been with them for years. The report ended up on her co-worker/subordinate/friend's desk and she dismissed the case w/o investigation!!!

You'll be happy to know that the powers that be are so humiliated over all this that they are falling all over themselves in righting this horribly wrong situation...and our Governor himself has placed himself in the picture. It is all over the news everyday, as people are outraged! Heads are gonna roll and the abusive parents will probably die in the slammer, as well they should!

"the powers to be"

The usual excuses for these people are overloaded with cases and overworked.
Its like that ll over this country.

"5-6 adopted/foster children of this unmarried couple"

"hey!! the moneys good, lets adopt some more"

Yep, Davey, 5! And I'm surprised they adopted the majority of them, as "fosters" would bring in money. Adoptions mean they are your financial responsibility.

An older child left home a few yrs back because the DSS employee, dad, tried to kill him with a choke hold because he was trying to protect the mom in a disagreement with the dad. Police were called, but no arrests. The young man packed up and left home that day and has had no contact with them since. He was obviously a bit older since his fiancee was mentioned.

He was quoted as saying he had no idea his mom and dad weren't married, as they always said they were. All the kids have their hyphenated last names, those that were adopted. Most of them were after having lived w/them as foster children for a time.

The reason it was dismissed was not from being overworked. It didn't fall through the cracks, but was addressed immediately for fear of the consequences in it being an open case, IMO. The co-worker wrote "After careful review, the allegations don't fit the statutory definition for DSS." CASE CLOSED!

Different rules,different states.

It just goes to show us that a local or government employee is not necessarily a Good Employee. I also blame the neighbors for not doing more to protect those kids. The neighbors who saw these poor kids not being properly cared for should have raised hell. But, they did not. Now, they want to tell what they knew all along. They aren't a lot better than the sorry people who had these kids in their care.

Not enough of them pushed for it and they had to suspect.....only the new neighbor who immediately called DSS when the victim came to his home begging for food and said he didn't want to go back home.. REPORT PROMPTLY DISMISSED BY DSS with that beyotch mom serving as a department head. Wouldn't want them to do anything that may reflect badly on an employee.....

BTW, she was dismissed before on another issue and the idiots not only rehired her, but put her in authority. Like I said...heads are still rolling and the action is being reported almost daily. It doesn't make the nat'l news, but the local newspapers are all over the entire department. They may end up w/a brand new staff and that's about the best news you can hear on this pathetic story....that and hearing the the mom/dad get a life sentence w/no chance of parole.
