Upset by the design choice for the American Twin Towers memorial?

I was stunned, shocked, very dismayed the moment I saw the two huge waterfall pits of the memorial. Too me, watching the waterfalls is like watching the soul's of those poor thousands of murdered people being washed down in despair down into the smaller center pits.

I had so wanted a memorial that showed courage uplifting of all those people, not something that gave the impression of defeat. But that's just me.............
