US to test shots In Poultry against Bird Flu

Right Now

This is an interesting interview and very informative. Also, not without merit. Already we have isolated birds and run the studies. We have given poultry vaccines against other diseases.

While the Biden administration has so far not greenlighted the use of vaccines for highly pathogenic avian influenza, several shots had been licensed for potential use in previous outbreaks. Poultry are already regularly vaccinated for other diseases, like infectious bronchitis.

In my original post the doctor did say that minx had contracted the disease, as had wild birds. Wild birds fly over the world. Hence, they could easily spread this flu if they were contageous.

Thank you for the additional articles @Mike .

But when people eat those chickens or the eggs from them, won't that vaccine become a part of them and be ingested by humans, thereby becoming a part of humans as well? How well tested for its possible effect on humans has it been? People seem kind of touchy sometimes about vaccines in their bodies but what about vaccines by proxy? Kind of makes me wonder.

The testing is ongoing but apparently the first vaccine has already been approved. I will be looking for further updates. It seems that scientists are aware there will be other viruses. and are trying to get a jump on this particular virus.

They want to get a move on, if there is a viable vaccine,
now is the time, over here in the UK, the flu has been
found in Foxes and Otters, while in other parts of the
World it has also spread, Peru have found it in Dolphins
and Sea Lions.

Mike.
Maybe but humans don't consume those animals and that is the point?

They say that humans will not get it, yet we are mammals and
there was a reported case some time ago Alan Gosling got it
from his ducks, in the UK, reported on the 7th January 2022.

Looks like you catch it from live birds chic, hopefully the birds
that are infected, never reach the food chain, or that the heat
from cooking will destroy the infection, here they reckon that
most chickens carry salmonella, yet it is rare that you hear of
somebody that has it.

As per usual....we're one step ahead!
I hope the public are aware that eating infected birds and animals will increase the chances of the disease spreading to humans.

Cooking your poultry to 160 deg F (70 deg C) kills the virus. Eggs are supposed to be cooked thoroughly with nothing left runny like the yolk.

Flu or no flu, wash your hands & what you use well after handling any raw chicken.

The only people that I've heard of having problems are individuals handling live infected chickens during raising or processing for market. And then not all of the people around them have gotten it.

I won't touch raw chicken.
Or any other raw meat.
Or anything cold & slimy.
