US woman returns beer stein to German brewery, 55 years after she stole it

An American woman has returned a beer stein she stole 55 years ago during a trip to Germany, saying she felt too guilty to keep it.
Celeste Sweeney, who hails from Maryland, took the stein from the Hofbräuhaus brewery in Munich in 1965.

Good for her. This story should be presented to juveniles all over the nation. Stealing is wrong even if one's peers think it's normal.

And she stole while a college freshman. No surprise there. She got caught up in the moment. Throw in a society that still had WWII fresh in mind it was probably very easy for her to act on impulse. Still wrong.

Reminds me of a company I worked forwhere the supply clerk would always run out of batteries in the month of December. Wether it's a paper clip, candy bar or pen etc stealing is stealing. Peers try to minimize and rationalize because they didn't bother to think or control their urges. Most are sheeple following something or someone.
