Pat Sajak had to have surgery for an intestinal blockage,I think it was.
Heard about this a few weeks ago and have noticed on the past few shows he has looked like they were putting heavier makeup on him.Maybe he was pale from not feeling well?

My mother, a whiz at this game, once guessed the answer Before any letters were exposed. Personally, I stink at this game, much better at Jeopardy. Also, I like Alex, and do not care for Pat or Vanna. Since losing my mother I don't watch Wheel anymore.
 
Vanna was seen to be very ill at ease on her first hosting gig. Unlike Pat, she apparently can't work with the teleprompter, so she constantly has to look down at the little cards in her hand to remember what's what. As the week went on, she relaxed a little more, but some of her excited outbursts, at contestants' answers, were a bit odd.
