I'm all for a union's right to strike but this is ridiculous and is what gives unions a bad name. Granted it's only a small portion of the union membership but it's enough that it's happening all over the place and not just in one location. People need phone lines for a lot of things including 911, this is not right. I don't care how much they hate the company.

Thinking back to strikes in earlier US history there are always a few--on both sides--who are rabblerousers. That doesn't mean they don't have a right to strike.

Actually prohibiting strikes could escalate and accelerate this kind of behavior in certain companies. I've worked union and non union and in both once employees fester a bad attitude frequently from poor management this behavior becomes far too common place or even accepted. They say most employees quit a bad boss and not a job. In this case the union quits listening to the boss and does what the heck they want.
