This past Mother's Day I also visited all the sights in Washington DC after dark. We went to the Lincoln Memorial and I was totally in awe of how beautiful it looked with all the lights. There were signs all around asking people to be quiet and respectful while in these areas. It wasn't all that crowded but you would have thought you were standing in Times Square, NYC, waiting for the ball to drop. The noise and laughter from these people was deafening. Some of the younger ones were sliding down the marble slabs on each side of the statue. Some having a snack on the steps. Have people lost their sense of respect? Or maybe they never had it to begin with. It was ups
etting to say the least.
