As a WWII vet, my flag was out early this morning. I did MY part. B-26 Martin Marauder pilot. 344th Bomb Group, 496th Squadron.

1942 - 1946 England, France, Belgium and Germany. Walked right past Gen. Patton in Luxemburg.

3 Air Medals + 4 other medals that everybody got including The Presidential Unit Citation.

Other than a few scary missions...the rest were "Milk Runs".

Thanks everyone.

U.S. Marines..............Vietnam, November 1967-December 1969. 13 months. One purple Heart, one Bronze Star Medal (valor) Stabbed by a bayonet. We saw plenty of action.

My father was a WWII veteran. Few yrs before he passed, he was adamant about having a veteran's marker at his gravesite. He got the 21 gun salute at his funeral.

Many of my brothers, uncles, cousins, and friends served in Korea and Vietnam wars. (all branches...Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy).

Thanks to all veterans for their service!

My Dad was a career military man (Army) and fought in three wars. My Uncle, on my Mom's side, was part of the "D Day" landing. Here is a picture of the reverse side of his grave marker. We could never get him to talk about the war, which was a shame because he took so much history with him.
