While flipping through the channel guide, on the TV remote, after Supper, I came across a show...Victory at Sea, on the Newsmax channel. Tonight's show was a 2 hour show of some of the segments of the original series which appeared in the early 1950's....about 12 hours of documentary surrounding the events of WWII. It was a Very good 2 hours of TV....in spite of the excessive number of commercials.

I viewed this series many years ago, and enjoyed it so much that I bought a set of VCR tapes of the entire series. I had almost forgotten that I had them, but quickly found them in my collection in the basement. With Summer approaching, and many hot afternoons coming soon, I have added viewing these tapes to my bucket list.

I remember that series quite well. My Dad loved it. I found it boring back then because I was just a very young girl. It also reminded me of the news reels they showed before a movie in the theaters.
These days I'm sure I would enjoy seeing them. My son in law was in the navy and transferred to the coast guard and we have watched many of the same type of movies on the subject.
Better late than never.
