Video of Dog Being Forced Into Churning Water On Movie Set

I agree just plain wrong.

I think if the handler had gone into the water first and encouraged the dog to join him the dog probably would have reluctantly taken the plunge in an attempt to please the handler.

One of the things noted was they used multiple outboard motors to churn the water. If the turbulent and/or cold water wasn't bad enough the noise of several motors going at once would scare a dog. I wonder how close the dogs or trainers were to the running motors.

What was it, a Hollywood blockbuster? Nominated for an Oscar? Or was it some low budget film that was at best 'straight to DVD' ? I just can't get worked up over these things. I've got better things to do.

The movie is just being released. Which explains the timing. Who ever had the information didn't want to see that movie profit from this kind of treatment of animals.

I read a headline about this on Yahoo the other day. Apparently there are moves to publicise this cruelty and to have the movie boycoted. Like others, I won't be watching it.

I hadn't heard about this film until it was mentioned here. Not my type of entertainment, but what it does show is the mentality of the 'animal rights' brigade. I condemn cruelty, but I don't join the mobs braying for the film to be boycotted / banned etc... Let people make up their own minds and judge the film on its merits.

Sorry, Capt, I dont agree. When something like this is discovered, the best way to ensure that it does not happen again is by hitting the perpetrators where it hurts. In their pockets. To watch the movie knowing that the animal was placed in some distress, simply to make money, is unacceptable.
