It looks like the mugger was a weak pathetic thug, and fortunately the old man was able to scare him off, but in reality he could have been badly hurt if the mugger had been stronger and more determined. Fortunately the old man was not hurt, and not robbed, but it's never a good idea to go to cash machines in the dark alone....

I've seen tougher fights in kindergarten. The victim is lucky the mugger was too intoxicated to do any harm & he wasn't armed.
