Not talking schizophrenia here...

This is normal, but still very destructive to our well being

Good book called :" Embracing Ourselves",
by Hal Stone and Sidra Stone

The fights the different aspects of ourselves have with each other...
...fascinating stuff once you start to listen

Learn to listen to the negative voices in your head,
to at least become aware of them

Is it your voice or some one else if it is in your head you have control over it. Be aware of the voice where is it coming from behind, in front, or at your side. turn the volume up and down to see if it feels better, move it closer or farther away, change its tonality maybe to a squeaky voice how does it feel? Move the voice to your little toe and see if it changes.
This is a great motivational technique used by some people they put a laud voice behind their head that says get to work.
It is your brain have fun.

Less than bright comment !

Some people get very self conscious when faced with ideas which are new to them,
or which they have not heard before.

My guess is that might be you.

The one voice we always listen to is our own. That is why we should refrain from speaking negative words about ourselves.

Reinforcing positive thinking with guided imagery, self hypnosis, or medication helps. I often listen to positive books right before I fall asleep.

Constantly ruminating will cause your brain's chemistry which, in turn, leads to more negativity.

In NLP we had a saying who is driving your bus. It means who is running you mind are you running your brain or are you letting some one else pushing the buttons or are circumstances running your brain. Even voices well it is your brain and you can make it do what ever you want the secret is knowing how. I had a voice that criticized me so I moved it to my little toe and made it a wimpy voice now it just makes me laugh.
NLP has a whole study on what is going on in your brain and how you are doing it so you are able to make changes

I absolutely agree with this. It's challenging at times to keep thoughts positive most of the time, but pays dividends in physical and emotional well being when you learn how to do this.

Allowing negativity in can cause physical health issues due to biochemical changes in the brain which transmit to other organs.

My brain is my second favorite organ as Woody Allen once said. I try to take care of it. :)

Absolutely true, as are the NLP comments!

The problem is when you don't recognize that the "voices" are part of yourself and can be contained.

It is very a common problem ....we each have so many different parts of ourselves, don't we?

Reading some books about it, why the different aspects of ourselves develop,
and how they, each in their own way, are trying to protect us.

Fascinating field of study.
