Wait a minute. A potato shortage? In Idaho?

Idaho has a potato shortage. If you haven't heard about it already or noticed fewer and fewer potatoes in your grocery store's produce section, you will soon.

And as for the higher prices, Higham says they could remain higher for a while longer.

For the record, potato prices jumped 4.6% last month and are up 13.3% from last year.

What's a meat and potatoes guy supposed to do?
 

Prices were higher than normal for a year. They used to have 5-10lb bag sales all the time. I mean 1-2 dollars now one is lucky to get them under $4 a bag. I've started eating more rice and have cut down the fancy fries. Even tatar tots went up.
