Wallington hall was originally built in the time of William and Mary (c. 1688) but re-styled several times in later years. It contains a number of important art works by such famous names as
A pair of musicians playing the Northumbrian (Short)pipes. These differ from the Scottish Bagpipes primarily in that they are played using bellows rather than by blowing. Notice the botanical scheme in the hall, painted partly by John Ruskin.

And one of the collection of dolls houses.

Gainsborough (reputedly) Reynolds, two watercolours by Turner; 18th and 19th century furniture, including pieces by Chippendale and Sheraton. One room contains a wonderful display of Dolls houses.
One local resident was Launcelot Brown, later to become famous as "Capability" Brown, the landscape gardener. The extensive estate and walled garden are not thought to have been by Brown, although his brother was a stone mason who worked on the estate.
