Want a chippy tea?

Ok, I get it. I know what chips are over there, but didn't know a fish and chip shop was called a "chippy". I was wondering what happened to the fish!

I guess what we have as fish and chips in our restaurants are frozen, so not as good. Wish we would get a chippy here, like the one in NY!

Secret, 100 year old batter? Fascinating- does it have beer in it?

Thanks!

Would love a traditional British chippy tea! The closest I came was when I lived in Australia .. they served butterfish and whiting, which we don't get here.
