Watched Some Jack Benny Shows This Weekend

There was a marathon type run of The Jack Benny Show this past weekend. I watched two hours of it and they are as funny now as they were when they aired originally.

Me too. It was on Antenna TV here. Even as a kid, I loved Jack Benny. I liked the whole cast, esp. Rochester.

I've been surprised that there haven't been more revivals and revisitations of Jack Benny's classic works. He was the master of comedic timing, and I loved his schticks, including the miserliness, his "Vault," and his violin. My favorite Benny routine was when he was robbed by a thief who demanded "his money, or his life!" There was a long pause, after which Benny when pressed by the thief responded irritably, "I'm thinking!"
