I have decided to watch Lost again. Not sure how far I will go in this adventure but I have not watched it since it aired originally on ABC. I know that many lost interest in the show as it went on and I can understand that but I stuck with it through the end. Anyway, watching the pilot episode and I forgot how blown away I was when I watched it the first time.

So for all those TV junkies out there (and I know you are out there), my question is what pilot TV shows rank among the best for you ? I would put Lost close to the top of the list but The Sopranos first episode still remains my favorite followed by The Shield and Arrested Development. I'm sure there are many that I have forgotten.

Oh, my gosh. I never watched Lost the whole time it was being filmed here on Oahu. I don't why but the first episode just didn't grab me.
And then for some reason, after the series was over, I got interested in watching it, and at that time I was able to binge watch it,
and I was ever hooked!

It can be very crazy at times and hard to follow but I was always interested in the characters over the plot. I have forgotten how amazing the soundtrack to the show was.

It's worth the first time around. I liked the shield, was very disappointed it ended. We even watched Dexter to the bitter end. I no longer have Netflix but enjoyed it while I had it.

I thought The Shield had one of the best ending episodes ever. Won't spoil it for anyone who has not watched it but it was a very fitting ending. As far as Dexter goes, I will spoil the last two seasons...don't watch them ! The previous seasons were great if you like that type of show but wow...last two were hard to watch.

I was very surprised I actually watched Dexter to the end ...that just is not my thing.

There were 2 shows which I loved in the mid 80's-90's ,can't recall the pilot episodes, but I do remember their finales, one is considered an all time classic.
1. 'St. Elsewhere' '82-'88,on NBC was typical medical drama. One of the lead doctors"Dr. Westphall"{late Ed Flanders},had a 6yr old son,Tommy who was autistic. The last scene,Tommy is sitting on the floor holding a snow globe, As the camera zooms in, inside the snow globe is a building that looks like the hospital.I thought and still think how bizarre to think this was a figment of a 6yr old's imagination, terrible way to end the series.
2. Newhart CBS sitcom '82-'90.Bob and his wife,Joanna own&run a small inn in Vermont. In the final episode, the entire town has been bought out by a Japanese businessman.Bob refuses to sell the place,5 yrs later the inn is now a Japanese hotel on a golf course. He is hit in the head by a errant golf ball, knock unconscious. He wakes up in bed with his 1st TV wife,Emily{late Suzanne PLeshette} telling her about a 'strange dream of running an inn in VT".The show was filmed in front of a live audience, they went nuts. A very clever way to end the show.
I watched "Lost' from the beginning too,,then it got confusing halfway thru the run with too many characters. I did watch the series finale, still can't make up my mind what really happened at the end. Sue

I've never watched Lost. However I have spent the last week re-watching The Sopranos. I never get tired of that show and each time I watch I see something I missed the first few times! I'm also a huge Dexter fan and I don't know how many times I have watched that series. Each time I wish that Doakes could have lasted longer; I loved his interaction with Dexter.

I also enjoyed Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, Nurse Jackie, Weeds, etc.

I never watched Lost until the last season. I binge watched; then watched the final season as it aired. I liked it so much I have watched it all again. I will purchase a set of DVD's as soon as the price comes down. I have certain series I enjoy so much I usually watch them again every couple of years.
