Watching the Emmy's Red Carpet.....

I can remember when we used to watch things like the Academy Awards and the Emmy's to see the beautiful dresses, the gorgeous hairdos, the accessories, the well-dressed gentlemen.

Then, it swung over to the "let's see how outrageously I can dress!" years. Well, it does get attention.

It seems like it's getting a little more conservative these days, still some pretty awful stuff but a swing back to the beautiful or at least "meh". You'll notice the actors and actresses who are "established" in Hollywood tend to the elegant.

Hairdos used to be lovely. I'd always sigh and think, "why can't MY hair look like that?" Now, they look like they either just rolled out of bed, skipped their last five shampoos, or came in from a Class 5 hurricane.

And what's with the white basketball shoes worn with tuxedos? All that money and they can't find a comfortable pair of dress shoes?

Of course, it's all entertaining either way..... I do miss Bjork wearing the swan dress, though.

I remember I used to watch award shows pretty much for the same reason as you. There was even a time when I was actually interested in nominated shows. This year, only one...Abbott Elementary.

I think celebrities should dress in a classy manner for the Oscars, Emmys and Tony awards and perhaps save the outrageous outfits for the Met Gala. I'll watch recaps of the show or fast forward through it. I believe will stream on Hulu tomorrow.

The awards shows are not as enjoyable to watch as they once were. Elegance and sophistication are at a premium. I'm no longer interested. I'd rather watch Looney Tunes. 😊

I don’t know who most of the celebrities are anymore, and I’m ok with that. 😉🤭😂

Billy Porter’s hat from the Grammy awards, a few years ago, did catch my eye and make me smile.
