We Humans have it pretty good?

This cute little Australian Marsupial, the Little Red Kaluta, lives a very short, frenetic life.
The Males copulate at 12 months of age, so vigorously they drop dead.
The males are semelparous, which means they die after one breeding season. Semelparity is almost unheard of in mammals.
Male kalutas copulate so much and so hard during a really short period of time that their little bodies just can't handle the stress anymore and they give up the ghost.
Kalutas are unassuming mammals that look like adorable fuzzy little mice.
They are not mice, but they're soft and fluffy with big eyes and pointy little snoots and whiskers and oh my god they're too cute.
Kalutas only live in Australia in a place called "the Pilbara", which is one specific part of North West Australia. The Pilbara is a desert, and the Kaluta's habitat is basically just sand and grass.
