We still have terrible bird flu in Arizona…how about where you live?

I haven't seen dead birds where I live at any time during the reported bird flu outbreak. If prices of eggs are down in some locations, I would assume bird flu is no longer a problem there, and since you started this thread, another thread says egg prices are down. Who knows what the facts are? They seem to vary by location.

Nothing significant in Central New York.

There was a small halal live poultry market here that failed an inspection in March. The birds were destroyed and the market was disinfected. Nothing since.

The local egg producers are taking precautions to prevent contamination from wild birds.

The local Wegman’s is selling a dozen large eggs for $3.19.

I got out of the habit of automatically grabbing a carton every week or two and rarely use eggs anymore.

No dead birds here. Eggs are stable but not cheap. Chicken is cheap though, so who knows - but I don't think they can sell infected birds as food.

I haven’t seen any dead birds except for the ones the neighborhood cats kill. These kitties better beware. According to Cornell Veterinary School, the bird flu fatality rate in cats is 70%.

When we lived in Arizona the hummingbirds were everywhere. I have only ever seen one in the east. The were a delight roosting in our orange tree.
