Wearable A/C ... coming soon

In 1985 I was issued with a safety helmet that had
a fan at the back and a full face mask, it was mainly
for dust as I was looking after stone crushing machines,
but the cooling effect was very good.

I had the only one and all the people who worked for me
didn't get one, so I stopped using it.

That little device looks like a good idea, if it blows up the
way, then hat like the one I described with a cloth down
the back will help.

By 2020, I’ll be 83. Need a device to warm me up...besides the hot wife...
It does sound like a great idea for roofers and outdoor people.

Claims it can work that way too .. from the link above:

The Reon Pocket works using the “Peltier effect,” which involves using a small electrical current to allow it to either absorb or give out heat. You control it using its companion app, although Gizmodo notes that there are plans to introduce an automatic mode in the future. Sony says the device is capable of cooling you by 13 degrees Celsius (23 degrees Fahrenheit), or heating you by 8 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit), and that you should get 24 hours of usage out of a single charge via USB Type-C.

I just wonder how long it will work before its power supply is exhausted...
.. in the above, 24 hours

A device like this would come in handy, for me. I'm outdoors a lot, and in this Summer heat, I usually wind up going back indoors shortly after noon, or I wind up wearing a wet towel over my head and shoulders. If this device performs as advertised, I may well get one.

From what I've seen of the device, is that it cools a small section in the nape of your back. I guess this is enough area to fool the body into thinking it's cool?????
I dunno. My idea of air conditioning is where you can hang meat. I could never understand why they had "low" & "medium" settings on air conditioners, you always want "HI".
