when companies realised that people were not only happy to wear or carry things advertising their name, but they would be actively willing to pay extra money for it... they must have thought they'd died and gone to heaven...I do. I also think some customers see logos like the Gucci or Luis Vuitton ones as a status symbol of sorts.
Do you think it's free advertisement by customers of companies that have their symbol boldly printed on their goods?
Yes, I have a few free things from charitable organizations the VA hands out. I even put a Roku decal on one tv. But clothes...... Never.I don't mind carrying any article with advertising on it if it was given to me for nothing. I use a polyester bag which has advertising for a Society of Funeral Directors on it, it was part of a giveaway sample bag, I am quite happy to display their ad ( I know some people turn the bags inside out)
As for advertising on clothing - I never buy overpriced clothing anyway, my $4.50 T shirts from Big W definitely don't have a logo on them.
