Week between Christmas and New years

Now that we are in this week of pause between the Christmas and New years holidays. what are your thoughts?? Time to relax? Consider the year past? Breathe in new plans???

Doesn't feel like the day after Christmas to me for some reason. Not that I do or ever really celebrated. I did go to WINCO Foods and was surprised how busy they were.

I don't know, feels like it's just going to be another year.

I usually do a heavy cleaning during the week between the holidays. Sort of an out-with-the-old and in-with-the...uh...neat.

I'm having problems getting myself started this year, though. I did go through some files today and tossed a bunch of outdated statements, etc.
I've been inspired to go through paper and sort and shred. Also starting on some old photos to share with relatives. And some spider plant shoots to repot and give to friends for New Years.

I woke up clearing up the mess that hubby made whilst opening gifts. There was a heavy blanket on the couch that I folded and put up. His jacket was in the dining room. And the list goes on. Thankful for awakening though.

I'll have to tell you about the surprise I received from my best friend later; too busy today.

Have a good day, everyone.

Our Christmas was nice; Huzz and I stayed home; stuff (illness, marital problems) going on with in-laws and relatives so we stayed home and we had a nice ham dinner, just the 2 of us. So I don't know why I'm feeling the after-holiday slump so bad this year. I need to start putting the Christmas stuff away and just can't seem to get myself going.

Well. I was wandering the net, found a great offer for a storage unit, so got that reserved. I'd been paying $85 a month and got rid of it as it's was spendy. This unit? $22 a month. Probably 3rd level but at that price? Woohoo.

Now I can reset my van once again and not be so cluttered. Plus, gives me things to do. And it's only twice as expensive as my planet fitness membership.

Wish they were close. But oh well. Pants shopping Wednesday and buying a lock, or use one I've got. Move my shelving inside the unit and have more room inside my van.

Ha! thta's the one benefit of not having anyone here this year...no cleaning to do.... It's still basically Christmas here, Boxing day everything is closed...

I never clean in the 4days between The day after Boxing day and NYE.. because I've always ensured the house is clean leading up to Christmas.. not that I go anywhere NYE these days now anyway..

For the 2 of us we have:
2 medical appointments tomorrow (Tuesday)
1 more on Wednesday
2 more on Thursday
1 more on Friday

Any questions?
Drives you crazy, I have put mine of until after the new year. Then it will be making the rounds for to all the doctors for tests, scans and physicals. Less all remember to get the dreaded colonscopy if needed.

Feeling an immense sense of relief Christmas, indeed, the entire year of 2022 is over and coming to an end.

Christmas Eve and Day are o.k. by me. The overwhelming mental fatigue coming with the run-up to it all leaves me flat by the 25th.

Considering the year past. I'd rather not. The year ahead. Take it a day at a time.

I am always glad when the holidays are over. This year it didn't really matter to me. I did not decorate at all so nothing to take down. I didn't really do anything for Christmas at all. It will be the same for New Year's. The only thing I was doing was to be hosting the potluck supper in our community room on Friday. Since our elevator needs to be repaired before we can use it, that may be cancelled.

I would normally say that I'm glad Christmas is over - not that we bother too much about it, but the weather is so miserable that it's hard to be glad about anything. If the weather was better, we'd be out walking most days and hoping that we didn't have to go shopping for a while.

I use creative financing at this time. Personal property taxes are deductible and are due now but only late if not paid by January 5th.
So I assess whether I need a deduction applied this year or applied for next year. This year I need the deduction BIG-time so I will pay today.

as its another bank holiday here today ( but everything opens boxing day ) shops are only closed from midday xmas day
i will have to wait until tomorrow to order more oil....phone specsavers for them to come and sort out my specs which have a scratch on them , i have a drs phonecall booked , then the new year , i will sit up and watch jools holland also phone my 96yr old mother , then another year over...........

Making salmon pate spread for my husband and Brit horse keeping neighbor for New Year's Eve- already made a batch for my soul daughter for Christmas. If you like salmon you'd love it. Got it from a famous Houston restaurant that closed down years ago and its become a tradition since then.

Christmas and New Year's are just another day for me any more, so the days between are the same. I'll just take care of what comes up at this time of year. My mind's focus will now be on the downward trend of winter and the upcoming spring season.

Ya, that is a kind of weird week. It's not a brand-new year, but still the old one. But not much is going to happen till January 2. It's a time to relax after running around for Xmas.

I've been out today having a Christmas lunch with my daughter in a pub up country... The restaurant was packed with families and a large table of people swapping gifts, so it's still very much Festive time here ... added to that.. most of the shops were either closed still, since Saturday..or only open reduced hours... until 4 or 5pm
