Well That's the Last of the Shark Shows Until Next July

Still love 50's & 60's music!
First it was National Geographic for several weeks. Then it was Discovery Channel for about a week. Then it was Animal Planet for a week or so. I actually enjoy watching them. Some I've seen before, and others were new. Most of the time, you see the Great White, the Bull shark, and the Tiger shark. One show this year did mention the one shark that has killed and ate more people than all other sharks combined, the Oceanic Whitetip.
It was the Oceanic Whitetip that was responsible for all of shark deaths on the U.S.S Indianapolis during WWII. It's often been called the plane crash or sunken ship shark.

When you think of all of the ships from various countries that sunk over the centuries, you can't help but think how many were in the waters where the Oceanic whitetip swims. In the program it said that the Oceanic whitetip may have killed over a thousand people over the years. I think it is probably higher than that.

Maybe that's why they don't mention the shark very often on the shows. They usually repeat over and over that we are not on the shark's menu. Which of course is not totally true.
