Well another sleepless night for me . I wish that I could sleep a whole night through. I am in some pain tonight and just can't rest . I think that I have a pinched nerve in my back because it has become very painful as of late . I see our doctor on the 25th hopefully can talk with him about my back issues.wish me luck in getting some relief soon .Leah

Have you tried Chiropractic? My wife swears by her therapist. I'm just plain lucky...no real problems. However, I too am an habitual night owl...but, I like it.

At someone on this forum's suggestion, I have been taken melatonin along with a calcium supplement about an hour before bedtime for several months now. I has helped me fall asleep and sleep more soundly.

Leah, so sorry you are having so much pain and not sleeping. It sure makes for a long night. I sometimes have taken Tylenol PM which gives me some relief and then I take Melatonin 20 mg. suggested by my dr for sleeping. I do wish you good luck on the 25th when you see your dr. Have a nice day!

Thank you very kindly.Yes I am hoping that my doctor will put more shots in my back to give me some relief . They are very good at listening to my concerns and doing the best that they can to help me get some relief .Have a great day sweetie.leah

I've successfully used just a 1 mg of melatonin sublingual for sleep, also just a half of an over the counter Unisom pill, which is basically an allergy medicine for sleep. But I'm not in severe pain like you are Leah. Hope your doctor can give you some relief, a pinched nerve sounds very painful for sure!

Thank you. Yes it is .You just can't get comfortable to sleep so most times I toss and turn all night ,plus my achllies tendon is acting up again but they say it's something that I probably will always have to deal with ..That's very painful at times too but I've made it this far I'll be ok .Leah

You really should try a chiropractor. Mine helps me hugely. Most insurance now covers chiropractors, too. My neck gets all messed up (too many years sitting at keyboards) and the chiropractor fixes it right up -- no scary meds, no surgeries or unpleasant (!!!) tests. Check around in your area and find a good one.

Have you tried sleeping in a reclining chair in a semi reclined, semi sitting position?

I began experiencing sleep apnea several years ago and could not get to sleep lying down in bed because every time I'd start to fall asleep I'd feel like I was suffocating and jolt awake. Finally, out of frustration (and claustrophobia), I got up and went out into the living room to sit in dark for awhile. I sat down in my recliner for a few minutes and the next thing I knew it was the next morning.

I slept like that for the next two or three years.

Also, to my surprise, the lower back pain I had been experiencing was gone too.
