My hubby and I are doing nothing this year. Our son always goes to his inlaws house for holidays , so it'll just be us. ( Not even a dog ,darn it !)
He'll be watching football and I'll be working on my crafts. Pretty boring, but I'm fine with it ! What are your plans ?

Daughter is a pharmacist and gets off at 2 so she is ordering turkey and dressing from Abe's Cajun Kitchen. Picking up the sides from Luby's and I am making the brandy cranberries. We will do home cooking at Christmas when I will do seafood gumbo. Also got a Patti LaBelle sweet potato pie for dessert. Hers is the closest to mine so we will let her handle dessert this year. It cost 3.48 and it would costs more if I made it. Will have wine, sweet tea, water and soft drinks for drinks. Will just be us as daughter in Va, can't come this year. Daughter, me and 2 grown grands and maybe their boyfriends.

I'm spending a quiet day at home.

A simple little feast without much cooking, leftovers or temptations.

Stuffed chicken breast.
Mashed yellow turnip.
Brussels Sprouts.
Cabbage salad.
Pickles, ripe olives and whole cranberry sauce.
Pumpkin custard with whipped cream.

I'll be staying at home also, no visitors. Maybe I'll make a pumpkin pie, or just pumpkin pie filling, no crust, and put Coolwhip on it. I've got everything but the Coolwhip.

I make the filling and bake it in a Pyrex pie plate that I have sprayed with cooking spray, when it cools it slices and lifts out of the pan just like a pie.

This year I'm adding a little cayenne pepper to the filling, I saw that on some cheffy show and it sounded good to me.

It's a holiday so I would skip the Coolwhip and go for real whipped cream in a can!!!

Have a happy Thanksgiving!!!

Yes, that's what I do too. But cayenne pepper? I'll let you try that first.

Real whipped cream? Last time I had that not at a restaurant was maybe Thanksgiving as a kid at "Grandma's." Before there was coolwhip, they used to have a powder you mixed with milk.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!!!

You too, Bea!

Nothing planned other than mama and I having a big turkey dinner at home......time sure flies, it's hard to believe that we've had 41 Thanksgiving's together.

I don't think anything. I'll be with my pet family. Maybe I'll make a turkey. I don't know yet.
