Depends on how cool the weather is as to what we will have to eat.

I made a big pot of chicken soup with lots of fresh veggies, plus a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies and some wide noodles.

???? Maybe brisket or a roasted chicken, or maybe pork tenderloin. Right now, I dunno.

So I made the apfelkuchen today to save some time because Saturday I will be cooking those potato pancakes, "bratwurst," red cabbage, etc. I thought it would be safe but my Spouse Mouse took a peek and it's nearly gone. He really liked it--and so did I! Guess we won't be having dessert tomorrow. LOL

I wanted the house to smell like autumn today, so I baked a small batch of caramel apple cider cookies. Real cider reduced down, a soft chewy middle, and they freeze nicely for teatime later. Simple, cozy, and very fall.

I made a peach cake the other day. I guess I'm still hanging onto summer.
