What are your preferred pronouns when identifying yourself. A subject none of us should ignore!

I disagree with a lot of what is said against self identity. I think all people should be able to identify themselves in whichever way they want, with acceptance & without ridicule.

As someone from the UK, I identify myself as a kitchen appliance. In my mid to late teens I used to identify myself as a toaster, but now that I’ve matured somewhat and become a more complicated individual, I’ve become more daring. I now identify myself as a Hotpoint Washer Dryer. Specifically one from the Ultama S-Line range. In this day & age you have to be specific about these things.

As an appliance, I would like to make it known that I’ve become trans-voltage, or perhaps voltage-fluid? Moving from 240v to 110v and back again at will. I wouldn’t say, “voltage-neutral”, because my home electrical system doesn’t work that way! And besides, I always like to think in a positive way.

I don’t identify myself with pronouns anymore, as that seems to be so last decade. I have moved on to adjectives, and I encourage everyone to do the same. I identify myself as “handsome”, and if pressed even sexy. Sometimes you just have to put these things out there! "Gorgeous" might be taking it a bit too far though -- you have to keep these things realistic. :)

I’ve also started to identify myself as being 10 years younger than I actually am. You have to start taking advantage of the whims of modern society. These days you will be surprised with what you can get away with. I used to be 6ft 1in tall, but now I've become older I seem to be a fraction under 6ft. I supose it happens to us all eventually. However, in official documentation I've started to 'identify' myself as being 6ft 4in, so thats OK!

In my case it would be The Cat. The Cat thinks this or that. The Cat went to visit grandchildren yesterday and had to wait for the oldest to come home from school. Then The Cat left and stopped at the local dollar store to pick up a jug of cat litter and some cake. At the check out counter, The Cat had trouble using the touch screen when paying AGAIN. The Cat was getting pretty mad because the clerk kept saying the touch screen didn't work (The Cat hates that) you have to use the pen. The Cat thought the clerk was saying the pad (number pad) and The Cat began yelling how in the world would that work. The clerk reached around, pulled the pen out of its holder and gave it to The Cat. The pen didn't work very well either, so The Cat began stabbing the touch screen with the pen and it finally worked. The Cat is not impressed with technology, go back to the old mechanical cash register because it was at least reliable.

Well I ignored this part of English class in junior high and high school...boring. For the record, I did excel in Literature and composition, because were were doing creative stuff. But, I digress.
I prefer using me, myself, I. Others might identify me as "you", he, him...etc.

Yabbut you won't be allowed on any of the rides.
as long as she's taller than Yay high...

That's nice. When I was a little guy there were boys and there were girls. When we grew up we became men and the girls became women. Now, in Canada, we have 73 genders and no one is happy.

It's just like cable or satellite TV: 500 channels and nothing to watch. I was a little kid and we had a small TV that showed black and white. We watched Howdy Doody Show, the Lone Ranger, Walt Disney and the Tommy Hunter Show. Everyone liked those shows and we were all happy. Today no one is happy. I think they are drowning in too much stuff and not enough human contact. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

I identify myself as a fire hydrant. Useful, strong, stable and if you park in front of me by messing with me, you get a ticket.
Until a car runs into you at 35 mph. (Mom wrecked the car 1974. Steering column snapped. I still hate Ford)

I will either identify as Kenmore or Timex.

Kenmore to wash away sins and other (bleep) and Timex as "I took a licking and kept ticking"

You know what I've noticed?
It used to be people would introduce themselves as "Hi. I'm Bill." or
"Hi. I'm Fred."
But, past the age of 65, they now introduce themselves as
"Hi. I'm 70!" or "Hi. I'm 67!" like it's some kind of a badge!
They have given up their names and are only their AGE!
(!!!????!!)

DD, DGD and I went out for lunch today. They had a bad case of sillies and decided that they should be called my descendants. Our server is someone who has waited on them many times in the past and knows them. DD figured introductions were in order and introduced me as her "ancestor"👵

@Gaer I wouldn't even think of saying "Hi. I'm 81 82." Sometimes older customers will ask me how old I am, though, and I tell them if I can remember;)
