What a great question!!

My kids’ voices, especially when they’re greeting me I love they way they say “Hey Mama/It’s Bee!/Hi Moms/Mamaaaaaa! etc. They all have different ways of saying hi 😍

Acapella harmonies/barbershop quartets

The unmistakable and infectious laugh of babies.

The wind chimes on my patio

The burble of water over rocks

Train whistle off in the distance

The sound of rain on the tin roof of our porch

The rumbling sound of a powerful motorbike with good pipes

The silence before you begin to hear the tiny things alive in the forest.
Trees talking in the breeze
The crackle of a fire
"I want you" whispered in my ear
Jon, "Trees talking in the breeze" That is so beautiful. You should be writing poetry.
From Pam's coffeepot percolating to to Ronni'spowerful motorbike, keesha and Marg's gregorian chants,
you have all shown us a piece of your beautiful souls by thinking up these sounds that make you happy.

I don't understand what Fuzzy's "clatter of wickets" is nor his "leather on willow" nor Wren's "bushers",
I'm sure they are all wonderful things.
Anyway, Thanks guys!

The great Horned owl DOES eat skunks! I'll be darned!

Great horned owls are one of only a few species of animals that regularly eat skunks. Since owls only have enough sense of smell to enable them to taste food, great horned owls don't have a clue as to how awful the skunk smells, they only know they taste good.
Yes, I remember doing all sorts of reading about owls at the time we were visited by the Grey-Horned Owl I spoke of, and though I couldn't remember which owl it was, I was certain there was a variety that hunted skunks.

Hoping for another to show up in the coming weeks, and he/she is welcome to stay right through until fall.

1. My wife's laughter is right at the top of my list.

2. The sound of a cat purring, it is very relaxing. (My cat is in my lap right now helping me out, she does wonder why she isn't number 1.)

3. A distant train whistle has a charm all of its own.

4. Gentle rainfall, especially when it falls on trees or grass. The sound of gentle rain on a good tent will make me sleep like a baby.

5. I like the sound of almost all birds, but especially sea birds and geese flying in formation. Leave out the sounds of peacocks, turkeys, and crows. The visuals add to the effect.

6. Happy children playing. In the summer our local YMCA runs a summer camp and those happy kids are in an adjacent area where their cheerful play raises the all around "happy" factor in my mind.

7. Beautiful church bells, we have a Lutheran church a couple of blocks away and when those beautiful bells play the Navy Hymn (Eternal Father), I stop what I am doing and take in the moment.

8. Music, but especially cool jazz and good classical. Toss in a fireplace and I am all in.

9. I have often wondered what is there about a top loading washing machine humming away in the other room.

10. Finally, I get a kick out of the roar of my turbo charged engine when I "punch it." I have to suppress doing this under most circumstances.
When my old top-loading washing machine was nearing it's final days, it took to making the most incredible and soothing sounds.

It would chug-a-chug, quietly drum a subtle boom-boom, and even get into a pattern reminiscent of that of a drummer where an ensemble of different sounds would emit in a repetitive manner, as if someone were inside and trying to get out.

I wanted to add:
violins
steel drums
- and more,

.. but was asked for 10 things ..
