What are your Top Favorite world cuisines?

ANYTHING that isn’t traditional American or Southern food! I am SO bored with traditional American fare. I am always looking for ethnic foods when we go out to eat, and when cooking at home I make many recipes that have ethnic or oriental flavors.

I love Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Greek and Turkish foods. I should note that the Chinese foods I like don’t include places like Panda Express, or Americanized Chinese foods. I go to Mom and Pop Chinese restaurants where the food is authentic.

I don’t typically like Mexican food, except when my daughter-in-law, who is Mexican, makes it. That is some of the best food I’ve ever eaten! And it tastes nothing like most Mexican foods that you would find in a restaurant.

At one time I thought Indian food was uppermost but then I realized I hadn't really sampled enough of it to put it in my top three ; what little I've eaten I really liked however.

Lebanese food is definitely one of my top three and I miss the homemade foods a lady I knew used to make there are very few Lebanese restaurants where I live and they use Jarred garlic no I can tell the difference so it ruins the dishes sometimes.

I guess Italian food is way up there on my top three It's very popular where I live It's hard to find a good restaurant that isn't Italian.

French would be my next favorite but then I'm torn between that and Greek or Mediterranean foods.

German, Greek, Indian & Italian cooked the Italian way. My dad worked with a man from Italy & we would go over to their house for dinner & it was excellent. It was the first time I had real parmesan & not the wannabe out of the green can. They made a bread that was cooked in a pan slathered in olive oil & the sides of the bread fried while it baked in a cake pan. OMG, it was so good!

They also made a dish with tiny egg noodles, meatballs the size of your thumb with shredded beef in a homemade red sauce they called Timbali (not sure of spelling). I wish I had those recipes.

Mexican is kind of so-so for me unless you get real good cooking. Our favorite one went down during the lock down & we said we would try it one more time to see if it better. We now have a new restaurant in town & so far there food is pretty good, but I'm not a fan of their salsa.
