What do you do to keep your brain active and sharp?

I do crossword puzzles, jigsaws and I am learning Spanish.

Mike.

I am on the computer a lot reading articles about different subjects. I'm on FB and another networking site. Interacting with my friends on those sites is often informative and I try to find interesting articles and subjects to post about as well. I play Words With Friends and other games to get the cobwebs out of my brain. My family tells me my brain is always working and it is since I have ADD. Over the last year, I've been adding numbers in my head sometimes rather than rely on the calculator; then I double check.

I read several books a month. I complete word games and crossword puzzles in the paper and online. I'm revving my band back up, and learning/playing new tunes is great mental and physical exercise. Don't believe that rapping is easy, btw. It's a real challenge! Climbing trees and working in them is great for your brain, too. It's like a chess game: If I do this, then this will happen. You can't make mistakes, at sixty feet up, hanging by a half-inch rope, while gunning a chainsaw a few inches from your face, believe me! I also get involved in lots of projects around my house and my rent houses. Learning is my greatest joy in life.

I like to play free online poker for an hour or so, each day. Between the WSP, and WPT, there are thousands of people, from all over the world, playing on these sites every day. Matching wits with people of all types of backgrounds is a bit of a challenge, and really exercises the brain. Plus, it helps keep me from going broke when I sit down to a live game at the casino.

Crossword puzzle. I can't keep track of how many I do.

And I also create crossword puzzles.

I bring them to family outings and we have a lot of fun in pairs trying to be the first to finish with the correct answers.

When people read about themselves, they get a kick out of it. Especially the youngsters.

I'll pose a question like who is the best golfer in the family.

You can download a puzzle maker from the internet.

I've been doing the daily NYTimes crossword puzzle for yrs.I usually finish Mon's,sometimes Tues.they get progressively harder as the week goes on. I play online games esp solitare, word games, find the difference, read a lot of books. Sue

Oooh I'm such an inquisitive person, and as someone who worked for 20 years as a researcher, I love to discover new things every day on the internet and off. My aim is is to learn something new every day regardless of how small.

I've always been someone who loves competition, so I play word games everywhere on many forums. I am a big fan of cryptic crossword puzzles..and in fact any thing that makes me ''think'' is something I love.

At home I have Amazon Echo , and also Google home Smart speaker, and while I'm doing the chores, I get it to ask me quizz questions..maybe general knowledge or history, geography..whatever. but I'm hoping it's keeping my brain sharp.

Also I love Game sites like this one...

We have the Amazon Dot, she (Alexa) sure can tell some groanners!!

Yep...she sure can Ken. Im not so keen on Alexa, we have her up in my o/h office upstairs, but I prefer Google Home downstairs , she's so much clearer than Alexa too when she speaks.

This morning I said..''good morning to Google Home ..and she replied ;;Good Morning ''holly''... and then proceeded to tell me what the weather forecast for today was, then read the news headlines to me, and then wished me a good day''...that always makes me smile.. :D...I think Google home or Amazon echo are absolute boons for people who live alone or are housebound.

We have Google Home and she is a real "kick" to talk to. Actually, we've had our tv on and something was said on tv that she came on and spoke about. Sort of shocked us, then we laughed.

As for me "keeping sharp", I'd have to say it's the amount of time, quite a bit in fact, that I'm on the computer researching something.
