That aside, yes medicine is a big money-maker and it is still unbelievable that we have to pay for medical coverage at all, unlike our brethren in Canada. I'm sorry you were misinformed about hospice. That is deplorable.

Not sure but I think Canadian health care is supported by income tax. The tax structure is another part that I have no knowledge of.

Maybe a Canadian will see this and provide some input on how the Canadian system is funded & if tax is deducted from wages to pay for health care. And if taxes do support the system what percent of wage is taxed.
