Most US states honor Living Wills and Advance Directives. Under those documents one can refuse all food and water and die in 3 to 5 weeks. Ten American states have doctor assisted suicide but one must first establish 90 days residency. Canada also offers that to people born in Canada but then must return and become a resident for 90 days.
Switzerland offers doctor assisted suicide but it requires a long trip to get there. Prices there can be as much as $ 4,000 to $ 10,000 paid in advance. If one then decides not to go there, they can get there money back but lose $ 1,000 to the agency offering the termination of life. Two popular Swiss agencies are Pegasos and Lifecircle.
An unofficial way to go is to simply overdose on pain medications usually Morphine. Doctors seem to wink at that exit and most Americans go that way if the doctor will cooperate.
The best way is to just acclimate to pain and suffering and refuse oxygen masks. If oxygen plunges under 70% while sleeping, cardiac arrest occurs and one then dies in their sleep.
My choice is just live until it's over naturally. We ALL die in the end without doing anything. I do have a Living Will and Advance Directive to refuse all treatment and let my health problem take me without doing anything.
